2024 RSA China Division Annual Conference
“Developing New Productive Forces to Promote High-Quality Regional Development”

November 15-17th, 2024
The conference focussed on the theme of “Developing New Productive Forces to Promote High-Quality Regional Development,” addressing key issues such as new theories and methods in high-quality regional development, new productive forces, regional strategies, regional coordination, spatial governance, dual carbon goals, innovation-driven development, restructuring of global production and financial networks, new urbanization, urban-rural integration, rural revitalization, metropolitan areas, and urban clusters. We warmly welcome scholars from around the world to exchange new theories and methods in regional studies and explore how to develop new productive forces to support high-quality regional development, thereby advancing the field of regional research.
The event was a great success, with over 240 scholars from more than 80 prestigious Chinese universities participating. The conference featured 19 parallel sessions and six keynote speeches delivered by renowned scholars, including Fulong Wu and Canfei He. Zhouying gave a presentation introducing RSA and played a video message from Alan Kinder, which effectively conveyed his greetings and well wishes to all attendees. During the event, scholars engaged in extensive and fruitful discussions.

To better serve the strategic goals and demands of the high-quality regional development and promote innovative development in the area of regional research, Regional Studies Association China Division and Faculty of Geographical Science, Beijing Normal University held the 2023 RSA China Division Annual Conference from December 1st to December 3rd, 2023 at the Zhuhai campus of Beijing Normal University in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province, China.
Themed on “The Chinese path to modernization and high-quality regional development”, 2023 RSA China Division Annual Conference mainly focussed on the new concepts, new technologies, new methods, national and regional strategies, regional coordination, spatial governance, sustainable development, innovation-driven, global production and financial network reconstruction, new modes of urbanization, rural revitalization and other related topics on the high-quality in the regional development.
