We are happy to announce that the Media Communications in Regional Studies Award has been awarded to the
Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center (CRC)
“The Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center team is honored by this recognition. This interdisciplinary effort embodies the role that universities like Johns Hopkins play in advancing discovery, informing evidence-based policymaking, and sharing facts and research with the world.”
Jessie P. Poon (University of Buffalo, USA) and the Chair of the Regional Studies Association, awarded the Media Communications in Regional Studies Award to the team at the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center (CRC).
Launched in spring 2020, the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center (CRC) is a continuously updated source of COVID-19 data and expert guidance. We aggregate and analyze the best data available on COVID-19—including cases and hospitalizations, as well as testing, contact tracing, and vaccine efforts—to help the public, policymakers, and healthcare professionals worldwide respond to the pandemic. The Coronavirus Resource Center – a joint effort of Johns Hopkins University & Medicine – is made possible through support from Bloomberg Philanthropies and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation.
This Award is a recognition of the best media communications in the regional field. Previous winners include Coffee Break With Researchers; POLITICO Europe – for the Brexit files; the Committee of the Regions and especially the work of Wolfgang Petzold, Belgium; and the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) in the UK.
