Although the deadine is not until the 30th March, we are renewing our call for applications for this year's RSA Policy Expo. The Expo was developed to address issues that are important, current and having an impact on society. and allow the communities of regional studies, regional science, urban studies and related fields to respond to new societal challenges and opportunities together.
The themes for the Policy Expo cover broad range of issues this year:
1. Role of higher education institutions (HEIs) in regional development
2. Place-based policy making
3. The Chinese One Belt One Road initiative
The Expos deliver a policy-focused, clear and evidenced book aimed towards the relevant practice-based and academic community, and promoted through the Association’s membership and wider book sales. The RSA provides funding of £15,000 (including the cost of the book publication and launch for which £2,000 of the grant will be retained by the RSA).
We are now calling for expressions of interest and Expos will be awarded to teams setting out clear policy related questions. The Expos run for up to 18 months and include a number of deliverables including calls for evidence and focus groups. There are also outcomes in the form of an article for the journal, Regional Studies, Regional Science and a report in the form of a policy-oriented book for publication in the RSA Impact and Policy Book Series.
