We welcome Katarzyna (Kathy) Kopczewska as a new co-editor of SEA.
Katarzyna (Kathy) Kopczewska is Associate Professor in the Faculty of Economic Sciences at the University of Warsaw, Poland. She is a quantitative economist focusing on regional socio-economic development in a spatial context. Her research includes spatial modelling of geo-localised economic processes – location and co-location, agglomeration, concentration, diffusion, and spatial interactions related to economic phenomena, firms, real estate, environmental issues, health issues, well-being, regional policy, sustainable development and public sector activities. She conducts methodological research on the implementation of machine learning methods to spatial analysis and combining them with classical spatial statistics and econometrics. She is a member of the European board (EOC) of the European Regional Science Association (ERSA), Councillor-At-Large of the Regional Science Association International and Editor of Networks and Spatial Economics. In her role of Co-Editor of SEA, Kathy will support the journal with her knowledge of quantitative methods used in regional, spatial and urban studies.
