As happens every year, we ask our members to vote for the Best Book Award. Eligible books from two categories are shortlisted by the series editors: the categories are those books that have been published in the Regions and Cities Book Series; and the books reviewed in Regional Studies.
For the 2019 Best Book Award, the editors have shortlisted three books:
- Fragile Governance and Local Economic Development Theory and Evidence from Peripheral Regions in Latin America edited by Sergio Montero, Karen Chapple
- Geopolitics of the Knowledge-Based Economy by Sami Moisio
- Smart Transitions in City Regionalism Territory, Politics and the Quest for Competitiveness and Sustainability by Tassilo Herrschel, Yonn Dierwechter
More information on each book can be found by clicking on the title. RSA members can vote until 6th September 2019. Please see your emails (members only) for details or contact Klara for more information.
The Regions and Cities Book Series editors are interested in hearing about ideas for books, either authored or edited collections. We encourage all members to consider submitting proposals for the series, and would like to attract a diverse set of authors and editors that crosses nationality, gender, geography and career stage. Please contact the series editor, Joan Fitzgerald (jo.fitzgerald@neu.edu) if you are interested in submitting a proposal. She and the editorial board would be delighted to work alongside authors throughout their writing process.
