We have the pleasure to announce that three exceptional candidates Ms Xia Xinming, Ms Ruiyao Xu and Mr Liu Haimeng have been appointed Student Representatives of the RSA China Division. We are looking forward to working with them!
Liu Haimeng is a PhD candidate in the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, CAS, China. His current research interests are about the coupled mechanisms between urbanization, regional economy and air quality in developing countries. He also enjoys interdisciplinary research on urban and regional issues, integrating different ideology and methods including Urban Geography, Complexity Science, Spatial Analysis, Econometrics, Ecology, etc. He has published more than 10 academic papers in Sustainability, Journal of Geographical Sciences, Resources Conservation and Recycling, etc. He won the Outstanding Paper Award 2016 for Young Scholars of Chinese Human Geography, National Scholarship of China’s Ministry of Education, and Urban China Initiative Award 2016 by McKinsey Funding. Besides, He is also a student leader and serves as Secretary General of Geographical Postgraduate Union of China.

Xia Xinming is a PhD candidate at the College of Urban and Environmental Sciences, Peking University & Lincoln Institute Center for Urban Development and Land Policy, Peking University. Her current research interests are in foreign direct investment, multinational corporations, international trade, Industrial Location and Industrial Geography. She also participates in the UN Cities Report on Chinese Investment in Africa and Industrial Planning in Nanchang. Besides, she has received many honors, such as the National Scholarship and she is a ZUKUNFTSBRÜCKE – Chinese-German young professional campus alumni.

Ruiyao Xu is a PhD candidate in Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences University, Department of Research of regional development, majoring in Human Geography. Her current research interests are about the world cultural heritage, cultural tourism and tourism marketing. She is engaged in projects actively. Sept. 2015- Jul.2016, she participated in the projects “Digital cultural heritage and tourism in xinjiang a comprehensive information service technology integration model” and “Summing up and sorting out Qiuci culture system”. She made series of PPT of qiuci culture and provided basic data for qiuci electronic museum. Jan. 2011- Dec.2012, she joined the project “Application of Tianshan World Natural Heritage” led by Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, CAS, Department of Research of regional development. Besides, she is also involved in various local activities such as “Bazhou tarim desert ecological and special tourist area planning” and “Wuqia county tourism planning”. She has also participated in various international conferences on tourism, such as AUG.2016: International Geographical Union Pre-Congress Symposium, Nanjing, China, etc.
