Three editors in Chief, three successful journals. I’d like to give a personal vote of thanks to David Bailey, Paul Elhorst and Mick Dunford for their stewardship over many years of Regional Studies, Spatial Economic Analysis and Area Development and Policy.
In all cases these editors have made material differences to their journals and to the communities that the journals serve. They have all been easy to work with and graceful in their professional dealings with both the Association and Routledge, our publisher. The whole community owes you all a debt of gratitude for your careful management of your editorial teams, the papers submitted and published under your tenure and for your service to the community. I would like to add my own personal thanks to you all. You’ve been wonderful to work with. You’ve left your journals in great shape and have been nothing but helpful in the handover process.
I have no doubt that your journals will go from strength to strength under their new leadership of Jennifer Clark (Regional Studies), Ugo Fratesi (Spatial Economic Analysis) and, from October 2023, Shenjing He (Area, Development and Policy).
