We would like to welcome Jason Deegan, our new social media editor for our open access journal, Regional Studies, Regional Science
Jason Deegan is a PhD candidate and Research Fellow at the University of Stavanger, where his research focus on Regional Innovation Policy is applied to the area of Smart Specialisation. Jason received his Master of Public Policy from University College Dublin and has a Bachelor in Marketing from Technological University of Dublin (formerly, Dublin Institute of Technology). Originally from Dublin, Ireland, Jason has worked in marketing for a number of years prior to starting his PhD, an experience which has imbued him with an understanding of the importance of communication. Jason also maintains an active blog which he has worked on for a number of years, which he uses to engage with several, different topics.
He says:
“Improving access and engagement with the Regional Studies, Regional Science community is crucial as we seek to amplify and encourage a new generation of scholars to become more involved in the important work of regional studies. A pertinent way we can achieve this, is through greater use of digital channels.”
