The School of Finance, Economics, and Government at Universidad EAFIT in Medellin, Colombia, is seeking applications for three Open Rank (Tenure or Tenure Track) positions in Political Science, Public Policy, and Social Data Analytics. These positions are set to begin in the second semester of 2024.
We are looking for candidates whose research significantly contributes to the areas of politics, public policy, gender, collective action, public policy, and political science through contemporary
and innovative methodological approaches. The ideal candidates should be capable of enhancing our undergraduate and graduate programs by integrating substantive topics with data analysis and mixed methods. Faculty members at Universidad EAFIT receive strong research support, with additional release time for junior positions.
Candidates for Assistant Professor must have demonstrated ability as a teacher, scholar, and researcher in a discipline pertinent to the position they are applying for. Responsibilities will include instruction, scholarly research, and community or institutional service tailored to the applicant’s experience and qualifications.
Candidates for Associate Professor must have demonstrated excellence as a teacher, scholar, and researcher in a discipline pertinent to the position they are applying for and have an established
reputation in scholarly or professional achievement. Responsibilities will include a combination of teaching, research, and service based on the candidate’s qualifications.

Candidates for all ranks should have a publication record in high-quality venues and demonstrate the potential for external funding. Additionally, successful candidates must either have demonstrated a commitment to building an inclusive, equitable, and diverse campus community or describe one or more ways they would envision doing so given the opportunity.

Assistant Professor with a background in Gender, Collective Action and Public Opinion
We seek a highly qualified candidate to join our team as an Assistant Professor. The ideal candidate will have research experience in political behavior, social movements, citizen participation, gender, collective action, or public opinion, with proficiency in data analysis using both quantitative and qualitative methodologies. Preference will be given to candidates with research or teaching experience in areas such as using new technological tools for democracy, political communication in the age of social networks, polarization, or populism.
Essential Requirements:
• Ph.D. in Political Science or related fields (candidates close to completing their doctorate will be considered).
• Research and teaching experience in gender and political participation.
• A research agenda with a high prospect of academic publications in high-impact journals
• Demonstrated capacity for the design and execution of applied research projects
• Proficiency in using R for quantitative analysis and Atlas.ti or NVivo for qualitative analysis is preferred.
• Enthusiasm for adopting revolutionary teaching techniques, including artificial intelligence and augmented reality.
• Ability to teach in English and Spanish; knowledge of a third language is an advantage.

Assistant/Associate Professor in Political Science, public administration or related fields
We seek a highly qualified candidate to join our team as an Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. We are looking for a candidate with an interdisciplinary approach who can effectively integrate knowledge from various fields, such as political science, economics, and public administration, into their research and teaching. We encourage applications from individuals with a research focus in public policy politics, comparative politics, public administration, government contracting, open government and digitization, administrative and political transparency and corruption, Govtec, and the use of technology in government, among other areas of political science.
Essential Requirements:
• Ph.D in Political Science, Public Policy, Public Administration or any related areas.
• Demonstrated research and teaching experience in areas related to public policy and mixed methodologies.
• Publications in recognized academic journals within the fields of specialization.
• Experience in academic or administrative leadership roles, preferably in research and higher education environments.
