AHRC/TECHNE PhD Studentships at Kingston University London for October 2025 entry
The Department of Architecture and Landscape at Kingston University London is delighted to invite expressions of interest from strong researchers to join our PhD Programme from October 2025.
Funded full-time and part-time studentships are available on a competitive basis through the TECHNE Doctoral Training Partnership funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, subject to AHRC eligibility criteria. The Department of Architecture and Landscape considers the built environment a register of human thinking and occupation over time, our landscapes, cities and buildings both as a laboratory and as an archive. We are interested in and investigate histories, practices, technologies and speculative futures. A distinctive social and political engagement is embedded in our critical and embodied practices.

Contemporary Critical Practice in Landscape and Architecture
- Historical and philosophical investigations of architecture, its traditions, relationships with other arts and cultural role
- Heritage and building in historic contexts Methodologies
- Reflexive and responsive
- Contextualising tacit knowledge contained in practice
- Tectonics as a site for innovation
- Representation as a site for discovery and as a repository of knowledge
