About the INTERFER Project:
INTERFER is a 48-month research initiative led by Charles University Prague, focusing on foreign interference by external powers amidst current geopolitical and technological shifts. The project examines the effects of such interference on public opinion, state policy adaptations, and the technological evolution of influence tools. The Institute of International Relations in Prague is a key partner in this endeavor.
Position Details:
The Postdoctoral Researcher will contribute to Work Package 4, which investigates technological tools used in foreign interference within the European Union and NATO. This includes areas such as online disinformation dissemination, cybersecurity, and digital industrial policy. The role involves developing an independent research project aligned with these themes, with opportunities for research mobility and conference participation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement research projects from inception to publication.
- Disseminate research findings through events for policymakers and the expert community.
- Conduct expert interviews, if applicable.
- Collaborate on publishing articles in high-quality journals.
- Participate in grant applications as a lead researcher or team member.
- Present research at international conferences.
Qualifications:
- A PhD in political science, European studies, sociology, technology studies, or a related field, obtained before the start date and not older than seven years at the time of application.
- Proven theoretical and empirical expertise in digital or security technology.
- Experience in publishing academic articles and presenting at international conferences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and diverse environment.
