Research Title: Understanding U.S. college graduate migration
This research considers the migration patterns of college graduates from a large, U.S. state-supported institution. If high levels of human capital can contribute to regional economic growth, knowing what motivates graduates to choose a post-graduation location can help regions develop strategies to attract them. This study also fills a gap as few studies have examined individual college graduates in the U.S.
What are the main benefits of the Early Career Grant?
The early career grant allowed me to do research that otherwise I would not have had the funds to conduct. It also opened up an opportunity for me to incorporate students in my research.
What tips could you give for a successful Early Career Grant application?
- Have a clear goal in mind – or specific project you want to have funded.
- Be realistic about what you can do in 2 years. As we all know research can take longer than we expect!
