The travel award given to me by the RSA allowed me to attend an exciting conference in Washington DC, organised by the Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning. I was able to present my work to an audience of Planners, Geographers, and Regional Scientists, and listen to their useful comments. It also allowed me to engage with the academic community in the USA and develop useful contacts for the future. At the beginning of my presentation I mentioned the support that I had received from RSA, hopefully contributing to raise awareness about the generous benefits given to members of this association.
As a PhD student I have a limited amount of funds that can be used to attend conferences. The RSA award allowed me to pay part of my return trip to Washington. Without this contribution it would not have been possible to attend the ACSP annual conference.
Thank you RSA.
