Who can you expect to hear at Delft? Well, the plenary speakers have all been announced and are described in this document. It’s a great line up and includes Peter Hall and Danuta Hübner!
The city of Delft is itself a beautiful place and you can read more about it on the Delft Creating History website in English and of course in Dutch. There is also a useful introductory video on YouTube (embedded below) which provides a really nice summary of the city – key facts: around 100,000 population, including 18,000 students.
At the conference there will be a large number of special sessions covering important ‘hot topics’ in research, including:
- Planning smarter cities and regions
- The social dynamics of innovation networks
- Technopoles of the world revisited
- Assessing EU cohesion policy … and
- Urban fringes
In addition to all the high-brow academic discussion, the conference also provides the opportunity for regional studies scholars to socialise in the fine hostelries of Delft – should they be so inclined. The RSA Blog Squad are looking forward to the Delft conference and the famous Dutch hospitality.
See you there!
